It’s an accident that happens.

You fall off the wagon

of doing whatever you said

you would.

Take blogging for example.

Or gardening or cookie baking,

Or whatever your passion is.

Almost for a year I wrote blogs. Then a big pause occurred.

Today I’m writing to return to my blog. I had no other topic in mind than this trivial one of “A comeback to blogging,” which I renamed into “A blog is a blog is a blog,” because the latter sounds cooler.

What the heck, a blog is a blog is a blog. Someone told me that they don’t like reading blogs because such content tends to be full of ramblings. Maybe.

Maybe not.

Ramblings aside, I’m so glad to be coming back to my publishing-based writing routine (that is blogging). The other day I was thinking I have to go back to blogging. It’s not the only form of writing I do. But it’s the only published form. I wrote another story (novel-ish) and finished it and kept working on it while I was not blogging but that’s work in complete isolation. At least with blogs I can see if I get any views or comments.

Sometimes life happens and you stop doing the other thing. The hobby thing. A passion project. A garden gets neglected. That sort of happened to my blog. But I’m back to pluck out the weeds and get this creative garden up and running again.

What’s the main lesson I learned?

  1. It’s ok to take a break (even if by accident)
  2. It’s not ok to let the break go on forever (thus my return today)

When you are working full-time, it’s very easy to let things fall off and forget extra commitments. But like Liz Gilbert (think Eat, Pray, Love) says, “You have to find your Big Magic,” and keep being creative in some way. So here I’m being creative.

It’s not a super helpful blog for the reader maybe. But it’s the blog I had to write to feel I’m back in the blogging game again.

In case anyone is reading, thank you for doing so! Means a lot! And if you have been procrastinating (or forgetting or whatever your excuse) on a passion project, would you be a dear and consider resuming it?

Get back to your passion project.

All the best,

S.K
